For those approaching by car, Beggar Bog is approximately 30 miles from both Carlisle and Newcastle on the south side of the B6318 (the 'Military Road'), 200 metres east of the car park for Housesteads Roman fort. Please note that placing our postcode in a SAT NAV system does not always bring you directly to our door. However, being so close to Housesteads Fort we are fairly easy to find. You can get comprehensive directions from AA route planner or find our exact location here on Google maps.
In the summer months, the AD 122 bus service runs from both Carlisle and Newcastle, stopping conveniently at Housesteads car park.
If you are following the Hadrian's wall trail on foot, follow the path south from Housesteads fort down to the car park. You will then find Beggar Bog 200 metres to the east. Please take care when walking along this final short stretch of road.
